Jefferson County Jail Overview
Jefferson County Jail, also called Jefferson County Corrections Facility in county materials, is the only county detention facility identified in the official research sources. It is operated by the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office Corrections Division and is located on the Port Hadlock public-safety campus. The sheriff administration building is listed at 79 Elkins Road, while the jail is listed at 81 Elkins Road.
The jail holds adults booked into local custody, including pretrial detainees, people held on local warrants, misdemeanants, and people awaiting release, transfer, or court action. The public roster also had a housing option for TEMPORARILY OUT OF CUSTODY, which can explain why a person may appear in the system without being physically housed at the jail at that moment.

Jefferson County Jail Population
The current sourced capacity figure in the research is 57 beds from the WA DOC 2024 Jail Annual Report. County capital-facilities material also describes 58 inmate beds as older planning context. The same 2024 state report listed Jefferson County's average daily population as 20.9, well below the 57-bed rated capacity on an annual-average basis.
Older county planning material says the Port Hadlock correctional facility was built in 1984 with a major 1999 addition and includes the county Emergency Operations Center. A 2017 food-service procurement used an older average daily population of 45 for meal-service planning. Use those points as history, not as the current jail count.
Look Up Jefferson County Jail Inmates
The correct lookup system for this county jail is the Jefferson Co Inmate Inquiry. It covers the county jail roster, not state prison or federal custody. The county's roster landing page says the roster lists all persons in custody at the Jefferson County Jail.

The public detail page can show booking number, booking date, housing facility, total bond and bail, booking origin, charge description, docket number, disposition fields, and arresting agency. It did not show a public mugshot in the inspected sample.

County pages give separate contact points for the jail and sheriff administration. Call the jail line for custody questions. The Sheriff's Office front office line and email are not monitored 24/7, and the county directs emergencies to 911 and non-emergency dispatch to JeffCom911.

Booking at Jefferson County Jail
Booking begins when a person is brought to the jail after arrest or warrant custody. Staff create the record, enter identity and demographic fields, secure property, search and screen the person, add charges and bond details when available, and place the person into housing. The roster may show booking charges before the prosecutor files or changes formal court charges.
Programs and conditions details are scattered. Older food-service procurement material described AA meetings, mental health counseling, anger management programs, adult basic education classes, and community service opportunities. The current communications page confirms technology and commissary services. The county also publishes PREA information, including a zero-tolerance policy and PREA reporting hotline 360-344-9770.
Note: Confirm custody and visiting status with the jail before traveling, because classification, discipline, behavior, safety, and security can change access.
Jefferson County Jail Records
For current custody, use the roster and jail information line. For records not shown online, use the county public-records process and choose a sheriff request route when available. For filed charges, use court records. Jefferson County's court-records page states that judicial records are ordered from the courts and are not governed by the Public Records Act.
State-sentenced prisoners from Jefferson County move to WA DOC search after transfer. Federal sentenced inmates use BOP. Immigration custody uses ICE ODLS. No official Jefferson County sheriff mobile app with roster, warrant, or most-wanted features was found in the research, so do not rely on an app-only lookup for this jail.
